R.E.S.P.E.C.T Day workshop with Cindy Aikman (Naam Yoga Aotearoa)

This Winter, join Cindy Aikman from Naam Yoga Aotearoa for a full day of movement, breath and sound power practices to awaken inner truths and strengthen your being.

This day will be filled with new ways of seeing ourselves and others, using tools from Naam Yoga, Divine Spiritual Wisdom and the wisdom that is in all of our hearts, to journey inwards and upwards to a more healthy, life affirming perspective. Developing our paying attention skills, strengthening our setting intention abilities and widening our believing in ourselves scapes.

These are all important ingredients to inviting the awareness of living in alignment with the higher power that wishes only GOOD for all. Viewing our "problems" as solutions, the vehicles that pushed us to where we are now; we can move forward respecting life more, respecting ourselves and all our relations more.

We will work with the sacred breath of life, move our glorious bodies and sing for our souls. Come smiling with an open mind and leave smiling with an open heart.

Saturday 25th August

By allowing ourselves to explore in multi-sensory ways can have profound results in our lives. Expressing ourselves through sound can give voice to energies in a way that gives them more form and colour than words alone can achieve. It helps get in touch with and express energies otherwise locked inside and provides the opportunity to bring out the child in you.

The use of one's voice through sounding, toning, or singing carries a vibration that can clear energy and emotional blockages. Enabling you to release any dis-ease in your body. These waves of sound resonate through your entire being changing your vibration.

Whether you want to let go of limiting beliefs, gain some inspiration, re-connect to your authentic voice, and find your signature note, have a sense of freedom or just simply want to have fun! This group play space will assist you through your journey of expression, allowing more of YOU to come through.

Here are some of the things that we will explore during the classes:
- Breathing techniques
- Chakra toning
- Creating and receiving sound-scape themes
- Healing with your voice
- Acknowledging more of you!! - sounding your shamanic/angelic/star/earth/rock god/goddess etc within you

Entry: $20
Age 15s and under FREE
Age 16,17 and unwaged $10
Bring yoga mat/blankets & cushions for comfort

What contribution can this session be to you?
*************
Yee Ley collaborates with many beings of light and uses her voice and an array of specially selected instruments to create a sound-scape bringing through energies that are relevant for the group in that moment. She brings a symphony of possibilities for all beings who are present and ready to receive.

*What happens in a session?*
Participants are usually laying down fully clothed on a mat and supported with comfortable cushions and wrapped up in a blanket in the cooler months. Participants can also be seated if that is more comfortable for the person.

he session opens with a guided meditation to create synergy of the groups energies. Then the sound-scapes will be created according to the group dynamics. This is more than an auditory experience - it is like receiving a massage with sound.

*How will I feel during a sound-bath?*
Everyone is different and so will have a their own unique experience. The most common sensations people report is that they feel more relaxed, and that they feel lighter during and after a session and that they were able to release the 'monkey-mind' they have not been able to do when they meditate on their own.

I have had people report that they were able to release deep emotions with ease and for some, relieve some aches and pains they had been experiencing prior to coming to the session.

I recommend that people have an intention for the sound-bath, even if that is to enjoy the sounds. Most people use it as a way to meditate.

I never know how it is going to show up for people in a session, but I always intend that I be a contribution to each an every person in the group.

*How long is the session?*
The sound bath session lasts for about 1 hour to 1 hour 30 mins (including guided meditation into and out of the session). So it is important that you are comfortable for the duration of the session.

*What to bring:*
- Something comfortable to lie on e.g. yoga mat/blankets
- Bring any other cushions for support if you wish - you want to be as comfortable as possible
- Eye masks (optional) some people like to cover their eyes

*What are the instruments you use?*
Currently I use:
Quartz Crystal singing bowls
Alchemy singing bowls
Tibetan bowls
Reverie Harp
Quartz crystal pyramids
Cosmic Tone space drum
Koshi Chimes
Voice (sounds, tones, light-language)

*Benefits*
- Deep relaxation
- Reduced levels of stress
- Increased sense of calmness and tranquility
- Sense of energy body alignment & balancing
- Integration of energy changes
- Sense of light being encoded into the bodies
- Shifting & releasing energies
- Awakening & remembering more of oneself
- Ease with body changes
- Ability to access one's inner knowings with ease

Heartsong- Kirtan Singing Circle with Radha
Jul

4:00 PM16:00

Heartsong- Kirtan Singing Circle with Radha

An invitation to drop into the Heart and let it express through singing.
No previous experience necessary, no singing abilitities required, as we will sing not to perform, but to experience the profound effects that Kirtan, YOGA OF THE SOUND, can bring:
- Inner peace
- Meditative states of absorbtion
- Happiness and joy, springing from within
- Opening of the heart with feelings of love and compassion
- Connection with the Divine and other kirtan participants
- On occasion, goose bumps and tears as the heart jumps with joy :)

WHAT IS KIRTAN?
Based on ancient chants, Kirtan has the ability to quiet the mind and bring us into the Heart, a space of no-thought and beyond reason. Everyone experiences kirtan differently, and it doesn’t have to be a religious experience. You can think of it as a sing-along. The wallah (leader) sings the mantra, and the audience sings it back or together with them. A single chant can go on for up to ten or twenty minutes. As you sing with each other you experience a deep connection with the musicians, the other audience members and yourself. And when the music stops, your mind is quiet.
Because kirtan has roots in India, many of the songs are sung in Sanskrit. If you’ve ever chanted responses in Latin or Hebrew in your religious tradition, then you know how powerful singing in an ancient, holy language can be. You can be completely immersed in the sound, with no words to distract the mind. The magic of the chants can then carry you within.
Kirtan is non-denominational, the Universal language of Spirit, the song of the Soul.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
Literally everyone, as the practice of kirtan doesn't require a specific belief system or lifestyle, everybody's welcome - any age, culture, gender
This is an OPEN community event!

WHAT SHALL I BRING ALONG?
If you play an instrument, feel free to join the music - please just come 15 mins earlier to tune-in :)

And a special treat to make winter feel warmer - a cup of CHAI prepared with Aroha ♥

CONTRIBUTION: KOHA
We believe in the incredible value of this practice and still want to make it accessible for all. Bringing yourselves is the most important part - and feel on the spot what contribution this gathering has been for you.

About Chrystal:

Gifted from birth with a healing connection to the Divine realms, Chrystal was born in Holland but now lives her life abroad, guided by intuition and traveling the world to meet new people and explore different cultures and countries. The “healing touch” runs in her family, and as a child she encountered Angels.

At a young age, Chrystal came to realize that life is incomplete without mediation and silent contemplation, which strengthen our connection to the creative source of the universe and move us toward the realization of ultimate compassion and love. At the age of 20, Chrystal was invited to join a shamanic sound healing circle, where she was introduced to the Tibetan bowls. Following a series of prophetic dreams, a friend presented her with two master bowls made especially for her by a lama in Tibet. This gift provided the catalyst for a life-long love affair with Tibetan bowls, which has evolved into her healing practice and training workshops for practitioners of this ancient sound healing tradition.

(At the age of 25, Chrystal discovered a book on the subject of Inner Yoga, which is among the world’s oldest and most challenging spiritual traditions. It is a path to know one’s true self through a commitment to always speak the truth. While embracing this spiritual journey, she also completed a seven-year chakra healing program, at the white lodge by Ronald Beasley. Upon finishing in 2000, Chrystal set forth from The Netherlands and, after releasing all of her personal possessions with the exception of her Tibetan bowls, she allowed Spirit to lead her to India, where she spent years in meditation and prayer. During this period, Chrystal lived in a monastery near the Dalai Lama’s residence in northern India. She also spent time at the UNESCO-supported Auroville intentional community in southern India.)

Chrystal came to in Bali in 2012, and since that time she has been working with individuals, couples, and groups. She currently offers sound healing sessions with Tibetan singing bowls and instructor training on how to play Tibetan bowls (Levels 1 and 2)

At the moment Chrystal is traveling between Australia and New Zealand

Sound healing private sessions available:

The Himalayan (Tibetan) singing bowls come from different areas in the Himalayan mountain range, such as Tibet, Bhutan and Nepal. Although their exact age is not known, many of them have been dated back hundreds of years.

Made out of consecrated 7 metals. These metals correspond to the energies of to the Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, and Venus, prayers and mantras were chanted to them during the process of their creation. So, these bowls have the sacred energy of the prayers embodied in them. Additionally, the Tibetan bowls were made with the intention of healing, mind body and soul and transforming consciousness.

During the sound healing session, the Tibetan bowls are gently placed on the body, Chrystal can hear by the sound of the bowl where you need extra caring. She has a bowl in the frequencies of each chakra including your earth star and higher self chakra, to balance your connection to your higher self and Mother Earth.

Sometimes clients experience messages from the divine realms / higher self, to bring more clarity to their life purpose.

Chakras are energy vortices originating in the ancient Indian system of healing. Most literature discusses seven main chakras but there are literally hundreds of vortices of energy all over the body.

Chakras are the connection between the spiritual aspect of our being and the physical. There is an endocrine gland associated with 7 of the main chakras:

Root chakra
Sacral chakra
Solar Plexus chakra
Heart chakra
Throat chakra
Third Eye chakra
Crown chakra
In the Indian system of healing, when a physical dysfunction is in place, one or more chakras are considered to be blocked, dysfunctional or imbalanced. Imbalanced chakras are reflected in a whole range of mental, emotional and physiological dysfunctions.

Chakra balancing is used to correct the chakra so that the endocrine gland and all the associated structures and organs effected by that gland balance and begin to function correctly. Historically, chakra balancing has been done in a number of ways but it has been most effectively done by someone who has the capability to either feel and/or see the chakras and their state of imbalance. They then use energy healing techniques to adjust and balance them.

Tibetan Singing Bowls naturally cause chakras to self correct. The sound waves, in the form of sine waves run correcting frequencies to the unbalanced chakras, bringing them back to normal functioning.

The overall balancing effect of the Tibetan Singing Bowls, enhance and support the corrective rebalance on each chakra. The result is balanced chakras which then in turn enhance cellular and systemic healing throughout the body that is facilitated by the theta rhythms.

Sound healing is like giving water to the garden. When our body is healthy, it resonates in a frequency of 64Mh. The sound of the bowls is between 200 ~ 500 Mh.

Weak and sick cells in the body cannot stay in such high frequency; therefore sound healing is also used for detoxing and support illness treatments.

If you want to know more information or schedule a session with Chrystal, please contact here ~ light7soul@gmail.com.
Private sessions are $70

Mantras & Mudras

Mudra means 'seal' or 'closure'. Mudras are hand gestures that we make often in our meditation or pranayama practice to direct the flow of energy within the body.

Mantras are sacred sounds with intention, which invoke a particular state of mind or way of being. These sounds open our hearts to subtle sensations and profound joy.

Sarah will introduce you to various hand mudras and their health benefits in combination with asana and pranayama (breathing) practices, we will learn and practice mantra, chanting together and turning our awareness inward for meditation.

Ideally suited for people who already have a yoga asana practice of some kind (even if you have only done a few yoga classes) and wish to explore some of the subtler aspects of yoga. If you feel drawn to this, you are welcome to join, no matter if you are a beginner or experienced yoga practitioner.

Yin Yoga and Cacao Ceremony- a combination for deep bliss: Join Sarah Beale and Lucy Brooking for this beautiful heart opening experience.

We will share cacao in a ceremony, allowing the magic of the plant to reach the depths of our hearts, and from there begin to melt into Yin yoga postures to connect to ourselves and to know our inner essence.

Designed to target the connective tissue, ligaments and joints, Yin yoga is relaxing and grounding. We use a lot of yoga props to support the postures and each posture is generally held for about 2 to 5 minutes (sometimes longer) to allow the muscles to fully relax and the stimulation to be felt in the deeper tissues of the body. As it is very meditative and peaceful, this enables you to connect to your breath and travel deeper inward.

Lucy on Cacao:

Cacao is like magic in a cup, and when drunk with intention and mindfulness, in Ceremony, can activate the heart, ignite joy, offer depth and calmness, and provoke gratitude. So be ware... lots of amazing things happen when Cacao is involved!

Cacao Ceremony is a practice that is available to all, and welcome to all. As long as you like chocolate, you’ll like Cacao Ceremony 😊

Why Cacao?

You’re probably familiar with Cacao as being something that you put into you smoothie... this is all I knew Cacao to be, for many years, until I experienced Cacao Ceremony, and I have never looked at Cacao the same way.

Cacao has now become and integral part of my life, as well as being the yummies hot drink, it has also enabled me to deepen my meditation and yoga practices.

We are fortunate enough to have Cacao from Peru, where it has been used for thousands of years in Ceremony by the Inca.

When we have Cacao Ceremony we are embracing the more mystical or energetic qualities of Cacao (also called ‘food of the gods’) but we also recieve the health benefits of Cacao (being a superfood & high in magnesium and iron).

Let your curiosity guide, and join us for this journey!

Bookings are essential. Book by emailing Sarah: hello@wellnesssanctuary.co.nz

Pre-payment of $25 can be made to:

Mums n Bubs (Post-natal) Yoga with Sarah Beale

MUMS and BUBS yoga is here! Mama and Baby can have some time to connect and yoga together. Mama will be able to stretch out, relax, breathe, relieve bodily aches and pains and find comfort in her body, while baby chills out next to you. Some of the poses you can do with your baby too!

We will explore:
Postures to help with Postpartum (ideally you will have had a 4 week rest at home after giving birth before joining these classes, some people feel ready to come to yoga earlier or later than this).
The postures will help to relieve any complications such as prolapse, help to tone the pelvic floor, relieve back pain and strengthen both body and mind. Breathwork, mantra (chanting) and playful poses to reduce baby blues and postnatal depression, are also part of this wonderful class. Baby will soak up the happy relaxed vibes next to you, beginning your yoga journey together.

Ideally if you can make it to a few classes sequentially that would be great, but we know life sometimes has other plans. Come to as many of these classes as you can so you can get to know other mamas with babies of a similar age. It's a lovely time to connect and create new friendships.

$20 per class.

Best suited to babies who are not yet crawling (for your peace of mind and for safety). Mama is able to breastfeed whenever she likes during class. Please bring all that you need for comfort including baby's favourite blanket, toy or bottle.

Bookings are essential. Please book by emailing Sarah: hello@wellnesssanctuary.co.nz

Blissful Relaxation Workshop with Marion Feasey

Time to take a rest. We are so good at doing. What about just being? Relaxation is so important and necessary for repair and deep healing at all levels of our being.

Relaxing into our body - releasing held tension and meeting stresses and strain - is more easily available to us than we realise. Knowing how to relax - letting go/letting be and feeling our natural state of mindful openness and ever available well-being and ease is a skill that is easy to learn - but like any other skill it takes practise to become effective.

Our body/mind is more than willing to function as powerful healing energy and emotional positivity.

The simple, mindful movements and breathing that are taught are gentle, and care is taken for individual needs. Support is given where necessary for any injuries. Much love and care throughout.

You'll be surprised and delighted at how simple and easy to practise such take-home tools can be - and over time how the benefits can become naturally available in your everyday living.

Join Marion Feasey for this nourishing morning session.

$20 per person. $15 for students, seniors etc. Koha option available by prior request.

Please book by emailing hello@wellnesssanctuary.co.nz

Wear loose comfortable clothing and bring your water bottle. A drink and delicious snack will be provided. Mats and blankets are also available.

About Marion:

For over 40 years Marion Feasey has been involved with personal training and practise of Mindfulness and Meditation, and Life-long learning., This includes a 6-year period of full time teaching and leading retreats at a Buddhist Centre as well as teaching in community settings. She enjoys bringing a non-denominational somatic approach ie body centred teachings and in meeting each person in their uniqueness.

Private sessions are $70 and Chrystal is available from 2nd February until 12th February.

The qualities of the "Pitta" fire dosha are: Driven, energetic, passionate, confident with good digestion when in balance. When out of balance this can become: Anger, irritability, stress, tension, overheating and skin issues.

Sarah Beale has long been passionate about using Ayurvedic routines to enhance her quality of life and to calm down her 'firey' side (She has lots of fire!) and in turn she wants to share these techniques with you.

In this workshop she will introduce you to the basic concept of Ayurveda and the doshas. Throughout the workshop will explore:

-Cooling Yin yoga postures to calm both body and mind.
-Breathing and relaxation techniques to cool down
-Foods, habits and routines to keep us chilled out during summer and to soothe irritated mind and body, skin and heat related issues.
-Essential oils to bring the Pitta 'fire' element back into balance.
